University
Heights Soccer Complex
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Electrical Budget: $1.3 million
_____
About the Project
The University Height Soccer Complex is the largest facility of
its kind in Canada. The two storey indoor facility is 167,000
sq.ft., with one full-size 69,300 sq.ft. artificial grass field
divisible by curtains and two smooth floor 16,000 sq. ft. playing
surfaces. The outdoor fields are comprised of artificial grass
turf with two football fields overlaying two soccer pitches. The
outdoor fields also feature lighting for extended play. This venue
will help attract regional, national, and international sporting
events.
_____
Humboldt Electric's Work
Humboldt Electric handled all the electrical work on the soccer
complex, both indoor and outdoor. Inside the facility we wired
a very large structure, with tight deadline requirements. On the
outdoor fields we installed six lighting poles around two fields.
Each pole is 90 feet tall and has 20 lighting fixtures. The lights
were sourced from the same company that provides lighting for
the Daytona Speedway and Disney's Wide World of Sports complex.
