Humboldt Electric awarded design-build contract for new SARCAN processing plant
The new SARCAN processing plant will be double the size of the current plant in Saskatoon, giving SARCAN 36,000 square feet to help them meet the increased demand for recycling.
Saskatchewan's Go Green Fund is supporting this project with a $4 million dollar capital grant. The new plant should open sometime in the summer of 2011.
The project is design-build, which is a construction project delivery system used to minimize the project risk for an owner and to reduce the delivery schedule by overlapping the design phase and construction phase of a project.
Humboldt Electric will handle all the electrical work for the new SARCAN processing plant, with a total electrical budget of $325,000.
