Wind and solar power at Fort Battleford
Humboldt Electric was awarded the contract for
electrical work on the Fort Battleford historical site. The work
includes alternative power sources from wind generation and a
solar power backup.
Fort Battleford is located in Battleford, Saskatchewan.
The historical site showcases the role of the North West Mounted
Police in the Canadian West. The fort was established in 1876
and abandoned in 1924. It offers five original buildings, four
with period furniture. The stockades and bastions are reconstructed,
and the barracks has an interpretive display.
Humboldt Electric will handle the complete electrical
contract, with a budget of $170,000.
